Fairs, organized in Bangladesh can be divided into two broad categories i.e. religious and socio-cultural. Within the ambit of religious fairs, falls Chaitra-Sankranti, Rath Jatra, Buddha Purnima, Jhulan, Gajon, Charak, Muharram,Eids, etc. With the passage of time, some religious fairs attained socio-cultural character. The main attraction of these fairs and pure merriment combined with commercial activities. National Days of Bangladesh.
In Bangladesh the Langusge Martyrs' Day, the Independence Day and the Bijoy Dibash (Victory Day) are the national days commonly observed. 21st February of every year is observed throughout the country to pay respect and homage to the sacred souls of the martyr's of Language Movement of 1952. The independence of Bangladesh was declared on 26 March 1971 following the crackdown by the Pakistani army on the night of 25 March 1971.
